Royal Palm holds fun run
Homeowners of DMCI Homes’ projects have proven once again that community life goes beyond the boundaries of their private walls. To reach out to the less fortunate living within their communities, residents organized activities that promoted a neighborly sense of involvement.
One of these projects was the Royal Palm Residences 1st Fun Run for a Cause held May 29 at Acacia Estates, Taguig City.
The event, organized by the Sports Committee, aimed to establish camaraderie among residents. Over 100 homeowners, both kids and adults, joined the 1K, 3K and 5K run categories.
“We wanted to bring together the community in one event that will establish the sense of being part of a bigger group, at the same time awaken the fitness attitude of the homeowners,” said Roel Vincent G. Castro, the event organizer who is also a resident.
Aside from being an extra-curricular activity, the event was also driven by a more noble cause – funds raised during the run will be used to support the public school students of Taguig where Royal Palm Residences is located, as well as support the Child House Project Foundation.
Prior to the occasion, a free fun run clinic was also a full house during its staging last May 22.
“The running clinic was a success since it was conducted by a competent running coach, Xhi Tablada,” said Castro. “The community plans to make this a regular activity to help raise funds to be donated to various charities that need support.”
Royal Palm Residences is a Thai tropical-inspired residential community in Acacia Estates in Taguig City. It is composed of eight mid-rise buildings, which have already been completed and turned over to its more than 500 homeowners.
